Not less invasive: D & E means dilatation and evacuation: this is used to describe a second trimester pregnancy termination. D & C (dilation and curettage) refers to non obstetrical uterine evacuation or abortion in the first trimester. The D& E is a significantly more complex procedure than D&C. Good wishes.
