Baby sleep: You have to be brave, picking up the baby all the time will just make him used to it & it will be very difficult for him to sleep on his own, try to swaddle, gently shake or rock, make sh sound, soft low soothing music until he falls asleep then gently put him down to sleep on his back, don't give up & keep trying. Good luck.

Patterning: You have many opportunities to help set a good sleep pattern. The first one starts after delivery. If you pick up baby every time they fuss, they return to the "womb"created by movement or cuddling. You need to birth the baby and allow it to get used to being alone. They do not get psychologically damaged if you don't pick them up now, but this gets harder on them & you by the day.tart now.
