Lovingly wean: So your child does not need to feed because he/she is hungry. It's a way to get love and attention. As tough as it is, I tell my patients to close the door, but make sure the child can hear you comfort him/her on the other side. The child may cry (it may be long!), but will eventually fall asleep. Do this every night, and the crying will get less. Eventually, the child will be able to self-soothe
