I started taking claritin (loratadine) 12-hour reditabs today, but the claritin (loratadine) is not counteracting my allergies. may i take a 1/2 or 1/4 chlortrimeton tonight?

Yes: Give it a try. You may have a little more dry mouth/sleepiness than normal, but that should be all. Hopefully it helps with the allergies. Get well soon!
