Maybe: Surgeons will often use injection of a small amount of a radioactive material to identify the lymph node that drains that area of the breast. This is called a Sentinel Node localization and biopsy. This procedure has been shown to be efective in identifying spread to the Lymph nodes. Speak to your surgeon about this procedure.
