Tonsillitis : No way to tell for sure without you having them be examined/ swabbed but sounds like an infection of some sort. Could be a tonsillitis or pharyngitis. Anything that makes it difficult to swallow is worth having it be examined.

We can't tell you : the diagnosis without eval. White spots on tonsils & adjacent tissues could be due to fungal infections (Thrush), Epstein-Barr virus ( mononu-cleosis), bacterial infection (strep throat), viral infections, tonsil stones, leukoplakia, herpes infections or oral cancer.
