Moderation: Too much or too little of anything is nearly always bad. If you drink too much water without the proper electrolytes you will get water intoxication which will make you very ill. As for the other liquids, the adverse effects depend on what kind. Moderation is the key to a healthy life.

Depends on how much: How much is "a lot"? A normal amount of fluid intake for an older child or adult is anywhere from 1.5 to 3 liters per day, but someone working in a hot environment may need much more. If someone drinks much more than 3 liters per day without sweating much, it can dilute blood sodium dangerously. Even marathoners who sweat a lot can have seizures if drinking water too fast without taking in sodium.

Dilution: Drinking a lot of liquid, especially plain water can cause electrolyte problems (sodium, potassium) which can cause illness. If drinking quite a bit of fluid, make sure it is a good combination of fruit juices, Gator Ade, and some plain water.

WatrIntoxicatedBliss: Major side effect: peeing a lot, unless you were dehydrated to begin with-or-were peeing a lot to begin with (meaning something's out of whack, like maybe diabetes or some other weird medical problem you should see a doctor for). Also, let's say you are just drinking a lot of liquid because you want to. So, what kind of liquid? Beer? Fruit juice? Normal kidneys should handle it all if necessary.
