There are many possi: your evaluation will look at medical, neurological and Musculoskeletal causes. This may be myofascial pain which is often associate with Paris seizures that will have a negative EMG. Your physician should evaluate you, or maybe have you see a rheumatologist to help clarify your symptoms.

Not likely: It sound like you had an EMG done that was negative. shoulder arthritis wont cause numbness in the arm. However, bear in mind that pain in the shoulder can sometimes originate from the neck. What movement provokes your symptoms? If it is rotation of the neck, then imaging of this area shoulder be done. Rotator cuff tendinitis can also cause numbness. Hope this answers your question.

Yes you can: You are likely experiencing referred pain from the cervical region. This is secondary to arthritis in the facet joints in your neck. Pain from the facets will typically produce symptoms as you describe and will not show up on EMG or nerve conduction tests..... tried to upload a picture, just google cervical spondylosis referral pattern images
