I've been taken omeprazole last couple weeks. it was effective. is it okay to take it once even not two weeks continously? just for the acidity strike

Well.....: while it is marketed over the counter as prilosec more-or-less for exactly that use... 1) lowers stomach acidity (duh) which 2) lowers calcium absorption 3) increases the germs in the stomach which can increase risk of pneumonia if you have reflux.

Yes...: It is best not to take any meds. If you can avoid the foods or beverages that cause the stomach symptoms, this would be the ideal prevention plan. But if you do get symptoms it is okay to take Omeprazole as needed.
