I've had a bad cough for about 2 or so weeks and in the last few days i've started coughing up liquid. what could be causing it? should i be worried?

Cough: Cough that persists for over 1-2 weeks should be evaluated. If the cough has persisted for over 4 weeks a chest x-ray should, in general, be done.
