A member asked:

I have severe panic attacks that happen multiple times a day everyday, there isn't anything that causes them. is there anything i can do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Panic attacks are caused biochemically and are random, without a trigger. Current approach is to rule out some physiological causes and then use therapy and a medication such as an SSRI to help reduce the frequency of having the attacks. Avoid Benzodiazepines because in the long term they make the problem worse. Best to learn how to deal with breathing and controlling your reaction.
