A member asked:

I have had left sided chest pains for months had ecg and blood work at drs surgery ecg seemed ok bloods showed low platelets but no diagnosis confused?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chest pain: At a young age, lateralized chest pain is most likely due to trauma, infection, or other inflammatory disease. ECG and many blood tests might be normal in these settings. Recurrent pleuritis, costochondritis or repetitive muscle injury should be considered, all of which may take time to heal. If your breath sounds and chest x-ray are normal, time may be best cure. Low platelets may need further dx
