If you're half way through your period and start your birth control, will it stop the period??

Possibly.: your period usually stops when your body has gotten rid of all the destabilized uterine lining, caused by the loss of hormones that precedes a period. it is possible for the resumption of pills to stabilize the lining and potentially shorten a period, however this is not recommended. If you don't like periods, use a continuous regimen by starting a new pack of pills on your fourth week.
