A member asked:

Drinking 8-10 cups of water per day is a norm for everyone or the dose should be adjusted individually? should i even drink without being thirsty???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Misconception: It has value for anyone to consume fluids in amounts needed to assure proper hydration. However, the focus on water in this amount is not needed. Some foods (applesauce) have 95% water, vegetables, up to 60%, other fluids also count. People should consume what they need, usually based on thirst, or at least enough that they void every 6 hours or so.
