Low animal: Chol: animal product. Decreasing/avoiding animal products lowers chol intake. Eggs, liver, organ meats, butter, lard, shortening, fatty meats are high chol foods. Blood levels increase more with high fat (especially solid fats, and trans fats), simple sugars, and hi chol intake. Low chol diet generally aims for <200 -300mg/day (an egg has about 240mg).
