Heart and BP pill: The risk of having a heart attack or stroke is low for most women, but it increases with age. At your age it is low risk, but over 35 the risk is higher. Also, women who smoke have a higher risk of heart disease. I would recommend no smoking if you are on the pill. Also, your blood pressure should be taken before starting the pill. High blood pressure is a risk for heart disease.
