?neck problem: Pain in the arm and shoulder could be caused by a bulging disc in your neck pressing on a nerve root. Tendonitis or bursitis of the shoulder is another possibility. Phlebitis of the cephalic vein would be unlikely. Do neck motions affect your shoulder or arm? NSAIDS like ibuprofen may relieve your symptoms. Consult an orthopedic surgeon if symptoms persist.
