No: Ringworm does not effect the tongue. What you are likely seeing is a patchy loss of some of the older tongue surface cells which happens from time to time. It can produce a rather odd appearance to the tongue. The common term for the issue is "geographic tongue" as it often looks like continents separated by oceans (oxymetazoline).
