A member asked:

Can i have a tumor in my colon causes by constipation ? but i have no pain???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: There is no cause and effect related to colon cancer and constipation. The malignant process takes several years to develop, possibly initiated by a viral transfection of normal colonocytes. Premalignant cells progres, as a time related process. Once tumor is present, if allowed to grow at a site where stool becomes well defined, the narrowing of the bowel produces constipation.
