Depends: Some grow at different rates--weeks to months more likely time frame. General health, weight, and other factors impact this as well.

No days or wks: If some one has obstructing left colon if untreated will develop complete obstruction may even need colostmy, early intervention allows better surgery and avoids colostmy.
