Normal: Irregular periods or absent periods are a normal side effect of depoprovera. Some have them more frequently others none at all. If you like this method and are satisfied with your pattern of menstrual cycles then keep your appointment for your next shot. If not then consider switching to a Mirena (levonorgestrel) or Skyla IUD.
