No test is perfect: Probably nobody was negligent. The chlamydia lab tests are not perfect; both false positive and false negative results can occur. What is the evidence the repeat test and not the initial one was accurate? Sorry about your husband's overreaction; even if you or he had chlamydia, it may not mean recent outside sex partners. Consider seeing a GUM specialist, e.g. at your nearest NHS GUM clinic.

Malpractice: Whether or not this was a missed diagnosis is very questionable. Without knowing what test the doctor employed or how the first swab was obtained and what the actual result was is impossible to know over the internet, and it is also the same problem with the subsequent "negative" tests. This is not likely to have been due to negligence. Your husband leaving you is another issue. See a psychologist
