Get checked: Your stitches shouldn't feel tight. You should have a clinician check to see whether or not it looks like the tissues have been pulled together too tightly, or if there is new swelling that's putting a strain on the stitches, or if they've been in too long. Tightness may represent a problem, and could require taking one or more stitches out. Hope that helps.

Sutures tight: Sounds like you have edema by NOT keeping you rinjurued hand above your heart level.Try doing that. If swelling continues best to turn to ER for examination...
