Pelvic pain: Your symptoms could be due to either ovulation pain or ovarian cysts. Midcycle or ovulation pain is completely benign and should subside within a few days. Ovarian cysts are benign and mostly functional cysts. They are prevalent in women of reproductive age. If your symptoms worsen or do not subside within a few days, I would advise you to see your primary care doctor for further evaluation.

Yes: It's normal to be concerned whenever you have a new sensation or finding in your body. A pain in the ovarian area can be from an ovarian cyst(most commonly), ovulation, endometriosis, ovarian torsion and, if pregnant, an ectopic pregnancy. Consult your gynecologist. If the pain is very severe to to the emergency room. SEE>http://bit.ly/1yy8iE5
