Hi, i'm 38 years old, 6 weeks pregnant and i have a lot of gas... why would my stomach above the belly button be hard to the touch but with no pain?

Gas: Gaseous distention is a fairly common problem since progesterone relaxes smooth muscles. This is good in the uterus since it prevents it from contracting and expelling the fetus but less good since it also relaxes the bowel and makes it move food and gas along less efficiently and relaxes the sphincter at the top of the stomach increasing reflux.As long as there is no pain it is nothing to worry u
