A member asked:

Can you please tell me the mean weight a woman should gain during the entire pregnancy process?

Dr. Dennis Higginbotham answered

Specializes in American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Varies: The recommended weight gain is between 25 and 35 pounds. If someone is underweight before pregnancy she should probably gain even more and if she was overweight before conceiving she should gain less.
