GI effects: Common side-effects are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting & constipation. Other reported effects include muscle pain, malaise, dizziness, dry mouth. There are more serious adverse effects that occur rarely & may be coincidental rather than causal. Dr. Neilsen is correct: for most patients Zantac (ranitidine) is a well-tolerated, effective medication when use as directed under the supervision of your physician.
