A member asked:

My orthopedic dr said the cartilage is gone in my knee. also have bone spurs. will pt help? he said eventually i'll need a total knee replacement.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: yes physical therapy is important. The better your muscle tone is the better your knee will be. If eventually you need to have a total knee replacement you will have a much better outcome with good muscle tone. Do not avoid physical therapy. Please have your physician send you to physical therapy.
