Consider induction: Labor can come on suddenly without warning signs; that is OK/normal. An amniotic fluid index greater than 8 is considered normal. If you want to go into labor, talk to your provider about induction. Many Obs will induce labor at 39-40 weeks if your cervix is ripe. If this is your first baby, its better to wait until at least 40 weeks. Best wishes!
