Nope - 3 white hairs: Just kidding!!! That's just an old folk tale. Pulling out white hairs does nothing to increase (replacement) number of white hairs. All it does is temporarily decrease white hair count by one. White hair is genetically determined. Aging plays a role, not teenagers or stress. No, whitening of: hair is related to genetic predisposition. Age of initial graying is largely a matter of genetics. However stressors: nutritional deficiencies, chemotherapy, traumatic head injuries, low vitamin B levels, zinc deficiency, severe illness, surgery & marked emotional stress may impact earlier depigmentation in people who are already predisposed to gray hair.
