Mercury: elemental mercury-the shinny silvery stuff called quicksilver is harmless unless it is boiled at 600 then causes pneumonia. Many of us played with it as chlldren put on dimes to make shiny. If you work around it it breathing the vapors causes Mad Hatter's disease. Organic mercury of many types can cause severe neurological problems. I would google for mercury poisoning, view images
