The most common diseases treated with Imuran (azathioprine) are dermatomyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus and vasculitis. It belongs to a class of medications called disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) or immunosuppressants. This class of medicines can decrease joint damage and disability"
