What treatments typically occur while taking steroids for the eyes?

Confusing question: Do you mean treatments steroids are used for, or side effects of steroid treatment. The conditions ocular steroids are used for is VERY LONG. Side effects range from elevated intraocular pressure in some individuals. Long term treatment with steroids can cause cataracts to form.

Steroid risks: Steroids are used to treat inflammation of eye parts (cornea, sclera, conjunctiva, uvea), severe dry eye, and scar tissues of eye parts. Risks of long term use: high eye pressure which can cause glaucoma (nerve damage) if left untreated & cataract (which can be surgically removed if needed). We ideally try to get patients off steroids as soon as possible but some patients need for life.
