A member asked:

How effective is ifosfamide (ifex) for treating lung cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not too good: Some studies have suggested a response to Ifosfamide in small cell Ca of the lung. However there is minimal activity and no evidence of marked survival improvement in non small cell Ca of lung such as adenocarcinoma which is the most prevalent form. Here the Platinum, Taxol drugs have had some improvement as well as in using Tarceva (erlotinib). A better response is being seen with the anti PD-1 drugs.
