Not likely: It would be very unusual for Gabapentin to make pain worse. It is very effective for a radiculopathy like Sciatica from a herniated disc. I strongly suspect your increased pain was unrelated to the Gabapentin. Gabapentin reaches maximum therapeutic effect after taking it for a number of days. 300 mg is likely an ineffective dose. **Ask your physician about increasing it to 600 mg.
