VIral most likely: If this illness is an uncomplicated viral illness, then the fever should typically resolve within three days. If there is a cough that lingers more than 10 days, any pain or other symptoms such as a rash, I would advise a visit with your PCP. Nasal saline with gentle bulb suction can improve comfort and breathing.
