Chlamydia? NGU?: Gonorrhea of the urethra (penis) almost always causes obvious symptoms (dripping pus, painful urination) within 5 days. The doctor probably is right. However, the most common causes of urethral discharge are not gonorrhea, but other STDs, i.e. chlamydia and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). If your partner has discharge, it's probaby one of these. You will need treatment; see your doctor. Good luck
