Benzoyl peroxide: The ingredient in Proactiv is benzoyl peroxide, in a very pretty box. It can help dry the skin and reduce bacteria. It also can be purchased as Clearasil or Oxy 10 in the United States. Different preparations have different nonactive ingredients and different price ranges.
