A member asked:

Can cramping mean ovulating?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: Ovulation is totally separate from the uterus. Some women do experience a little mid-cycle pain, usually sharp and short, as the egg leaves the ovaries, which we call "mittleschmertz" or german for middle-pain. Cramping is usually caused as the uterus is trying to shed a lining...But can also come from dehydration.
