I've had a sharp pain, lower right in front, just 2 or 3 inches above the beltline. it's happened 3 or 4 times in the last week and lasts 10-60 sec. ?

Many possibilities: Sharp pain only may be due to muscle strain or an inguinal hernia. It doesn't sound like you have appendicitis, as you'd be more ill. Other causes of pain there include intussusception, Crohn's disease, etc. Your doctor can take a more thorough history and perform the needed testing, perhaps starting with an ultrasound.
