Inpatient care: A feeding tube is serious business for so some with an eating disorder. Usually this is because the person is not gaining or progressing enough on an outpatient basis to be safe. In essence, the tube force feeds the person who can't do it on their own. I wonder if your doc is recommending this or if you just heard about it.
