Anemia: 103 for an "iron level" is low. However, it depends on the lab what their reference values are, e.g., 115 or 120. One reason the "iron level" goes down in pregnancy is the expansion of the plasma volume in mom's circulation, i.e., the "iron" gets diluted. It is basically not possible to catch up with that dilution, but taking iron will prevent the level from going further down.

Not low: Your iron level is not low. However, it would be prudent to take supplemental iron to make sure that you have adequate reserves.
