Inflammation: Severe pain with light sensitivity could mean you have inflammation (uveitis) in your eye. Have an eyemd take a look under the microscope. If it does not happen during the day & just at night, it is due to dry eyes (drying out of tear film): artificial tears will help. See "step ladder for dry eye" http://eyedoc2020.Blogspot.Com/.
