A member asked:

My hdl and triglycerides are very normal, but i have very high ldl what could be the reason? diet is minimal and not fatty,,i'm thin and have crohn's

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably genetic: We talk little about the genetic component to LDL problems but they're actually a bigger factor than diet and exercise -- we simply can't do anything about them. And much of the traditional "wisdom" about diet and cholesterol probably isn't even true. Stay fit and be ready to accept medication should your physician and perhaps a second opinion consider it right for you.
