Rx: The food that you ate may have contained proteins which you are allergic to, and I would suggest that you take an anti histamine for the next 2 days. If you experience any respiratory difficulty, a visit to the ED is suggested. A rash often develops in connection with allergic reactions. An epi pen can be used on route to the ED.

See your doctor: Allergic reactions don't cause fever, so you're probably suffering from a viral infection and could benefit from a cough suppressant. If you had no other symptoms of food allergy after eating something to which you think you're allergic, you might want to revisit whether you are really allergic or simply have an intolerance to them.
