D-limonene: ...is the active ingredient in orange peel oil. There are no peer-reviewed published studies on orange peel oil in reflux. There is speculation that it may increase clearance of acid from the esophagus or act as a surfactant. How, or even if it works is not really known. It seems generally safe, although if inhaled may make asthma worse. If you have chronic reflux, see your doctor. Good luck.
