Okay to wait: Most in the US give the first dose at 1 yr unless there is a significant outbreak in the area, then as early as 6 mo. As long as the baby is well into recovery (drinking well again and fever free) the vaccine could be given at your convenience. Often we wait a month after a bad case of HFM.
