A member asked:

Small (deep) posterior cervical node that only feels somewhat moveable and not completely freely mobile. is just somewhat moveable okay?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enlarged lymph node: Lymph nodes can enlarge for many reasons, most commonly related to infectious or inflammatory reasons. Usually these are not fixed, and will wane over time. A node that remains enlarged , becomes fixed, and is not tender is concerning for cancer, particularly if it lasts longer than a few months. Often a simple needle aspiration biopsy can then rule out cancer without need for surgical biopsy.
