A member asked:

Can herpes type 1 result into herpes type 2 that is if both me and my wife have herpes type 1?

No: Herpes type 1 and herpes type 2 are different types of viruses, even though they can both cause similar illnesses. So two people having herpes type 1 does not make herpes type 2 (herpes type 1 + herpes type 1 = herpes type 1)
