A member asked:

Should ringworm spots keep appearing even after treatment (lotrimin (clotrimazole) ultra) has been started for 5 days, or does it take awhile for it to take effect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ringworm: Ringworm can occasionally be resistant to treatment so you may need a different antifungal. Additionally, there is a common skin disorder that is often misdiagnosed as ringworm called pityriasis rosea which you may have. PR does not respond to topical antifungals but goes away on its own. It starts with one larger patch and then multiple smaller patches develop over a few weeks.
